Create/Connect in collaboration with the Mass Observation Archive want to know more about the everyday lived experiences of trans and gender diverse young people.
Together with a group of young people, we have co-designed an activity workbook about trans and gender diverse young people’s everyday life in Britain today, which we would like to tell you about. This is an activity that youth workers can use in youth groups or that young people can use themselves!
The activity workbook is a collaboration with the Mass Observation Archive on their 12th of May 1-Day Diary activity. Every year on the 12 May, people are invited to write a diary entry about their day, creating a wonderful glimpse into the everyday lives of people in the UK through time.
We and the Mass Observation Archive want to include more trans and gender diverse youth voices in the archive through the 1-Day Diary so that trans histories can be remembered and researched and so the everyday lived experiences of trans and gender diverse young people can be seen and celebrated.
This is why we have co-created a 1-Day Diary workbook with trans and gender diverse young people and workshop guidelines to share with LGBTQI+ youth groups throughout the UK.
The digital copy of the 1-Day Diary activity workbook is available here
This activity can be carried out throughout May and June. All diaries will be anonymous and nobody’s identity will be revealed. It is entirely up to each young person if they want to contribute their diary! Feel free to use the workbook regardless of whether you decide to submit your diary or not.
Please see our information sheet for young people and/or our information sheet for parents/guardians/trusted adults.
If you would like to submit a diary you can also use this template available here.
